WHAT ARE FILLERS?

We only use the highest quality brands, which have had over ten years experience developing their products. Fillers used at de Vries Medical Aesthetics are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring element within the skin.

Hyaluronic acid contributes to skin hydration, collagen production, and supports the structures within the skin. This makes it a really important and effective product to use for rejuvenation purposes, or to correct volume loss.

Fillers are injected into, or under, the skin at varying depths, depending on the treatment.

DIFFERENT FILLERS AND USES

The easiest way to describe different fillers is by how thin or thick they are!

The thinnest filler products may be used to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin and do not create volume eg. skin boosters.

Thin fillers may also be used to treat wrinkles directly just below the skin eg. nasolabial folds.

The thickest of filler products may be used to correct deep volume loss that has occurred due to ageing, which can also indirectly help reduce the prominence of some wrinkles eg. cheek filler.

Both thin and thick filler products may also be used to rebalance or enhance your natural features depending on desired result eg. lip enhancement.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A full face to face consultation takes place before any treatment. If suitable for treatment the skin is cleaned and anatomy marked up to guide injection points. A cannula or needle is then used to inject the filler under the skin at varying depths, depending on the area treated. This may cause some discomfort for some patients. Topical anaesthetic can be used to alleviate this discomfort, and all the dermal filler products we use also contain local anaesthetic.

  • After care advice given following treatment

  • Minimal downtime

  • A free follow up appointment is recommended around 4 weeks post treatment to assess the treatment outcome

Dermal fillers start working straight away and last between 6 and 18 months. Durability depends on how ‘thin’ or ‘thick’ a filler is, as well as the area treated. People metabolise dermal fillers at different rates, so this can also affect durability. During your consultation the average duration of product for the area treated will be discussed.
